Meet The Staff

Thomas Dearmore - Program Manager
Thomas began his post-secondary education at the relatively late age of 39. Snow College in Ephraim, Utah awarded him summa cum laude at graduation—before he moved on to Utah State University to study business administration. His formal education culminated in 2007 with an MBA from California Coast University in Santa Ana, California.

In 2008, Thomas began his career in human services by being instrumental in the design and formation of the 450-bed STRIVE Program in the Central Utah Correctional Facility. His years there as Program Coordinator helped build a foundation for the very successful program it remains to this day.  STRIVE stands for Success Through Integrity Values and Effort.

Thomas comes to the Esplanade House from San Jose, where he managed the New Opportunity Work (NOW) Program. The NOW program is a subsidized employment program for men and women recently released from county jail or prison. Many of the participants in the NOW program face the same barriers as the families at the Esplanade House and Thomas brings a fresh approach to tackling those barriers.

Thomas has an important Esplanade House connection. Twenty-years ago, when the Esplanade House was in the little motel on The Esplanade, his wife Michelle and step-son graduated the program. Michelle has gone on to have a very successful career in the field of radiology and credits the Esplanade House with saving her life.
